This 14-year-old kitchen needed a facelift. Not only was the space difficult to work in, but the dual level counters cut the prep space in half. As the owner valued her time in the kitchen, it was very important to make the space cook friendly and to enhance the cooking experience.
In addition to creating a single level bar space where guest can eat and food can be prepared, we took out a lower wall oven and an electric cook top to make space for a Wolf range with gas burners. This helped to make the space feel more open for entertaining and created more usable counter space. We also moved the microwave to a lower cabinet so that there was even more counter space.
The most important thing was to improve the workflow and to create better seating for guests when the homeowner entertained.

The Farrington's Home
In this renovation we added living space to the kitchen from an under utilized mud room and we made the space family friendly. The design was complicated, yet the results were amazing. With added gas fireplaces and built in storage, the Farringtons are able to enjoy their generous living space. Come see for yourself!
