The Way to a Home’s Heart is Through the Kitchen Remodel

Custom KitchenWhen couples build a house, they tend to pay a lot of attention to the kitchen.  There’s a good reason for that. Usually one of them loves to cook, but even if that’s not the case, the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house. It’s often the heart of the home and the center of activity. At almost any social event in the home, people will congregate in the kitchen. As a matter of fact, it’s hard to get them out of the kitchen!

Kitchens are crucial and it’s important to remember that at the design stage. A well-designed, functional kitchen not only makes the cook (and guests) happy, it also ensures a greater resale value later. Don’t underestimate the importance of this key room in your home.

When selecting kitchen cabinets, look for quality—not bargains. Well-made cabinets and drawers will provide years of enjoyment and functionality. Durable, high quality countertops may cost a bit more initially, but will deliver much more value—both in the short term and at resale time. And when it comes to appliances, you don’t want to skimp either. You don’t have to purchase the absolute top of the line, or the latest fad, but spend the money to get good quality. You’ll be glad while you’re using the kitchen—and when it’s time to sell your home.

Depending on your budget (and how you entertain), there are a wide variety of options you can choose that will make your kitchen remodel spectacular. Your builder can help you with options that will make this most-important room “wow”. But the most important thing is to think through the design of this room ahead of time.

What are your “must have” ideas for the kitchen?
